Subject: BMW: Origin of term "Boxer" for engine
I just finished watching a one hour program on the History channel entitled
"The History of the Volksvagen Beetle," and they gave an explanation of the
term "Boxer Engine" which was given by German engineers. They explained
that the opposed engine operates similarly to the arms of two opposing
boxers in a boxing ring, hence, the Boxer engine.

I am getting the same thing, and I just confirmed that I am not on the
digest list. I am not sure, but if you look at the heading, it seems to be
a automatic reply or send back from somebody at Organization: Union Pacific
Corporation. With so many folks off to Savanna, I guess we will have to
just wait until it is fixed.
